film

the only new years resolution i have been going strong with is taking more photographs. predominately film photographs. over the years i have taken thousands of digital photos. they are everywhere. on old computers, on disks, memory cards, almost every single one of them floating around in mega bites and pixels. never printed at one of those odd yellow contraptions at cvs and the like. digital photos frighten me in an odd way that few things frighten me. like a philosophical way, maybe, because, well i wont get into it... they are not material. i cannot touch them. they are in a screen not on my wall. they can be erased. i can forget about them and never come across them on an afternoon of cleaning out a closet, or in that box i just never unpacked. i like to have some records of memory that a take a bit more effort to destroy. like burning.
