you made a skirt from an old tablecloth

i woke naturally this morning at 7 am. a weeks worth of getting up at 3am for work can really fuck with you and your sleep schedule. 701am, my eyes just burst open. going back to sleep was not an option. it just seemed silly not to take advantage of this opportunity of waking up feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. who cares what the clock says!? this gave me to respond to the text i received from becca which im sure she wasnt expecting me to reply to. i love talking to friends on the telephone. we chit chatted about this and that. and now im at starbucks finishing what my mind had started to think about yesterday before a very nice interruption in the form of ashley and javi showed up across the street and made me jump from my seat and completely ignore all forms of technology. i was thinking about the many endeavors i would like to pursue when i returned to new york. they are far too many, indeed, but hopefully ill be able to prioritize, i should probably make prioritizing part of my list.
+first and foremost, im going to go to school for cosmetology. not right away. maybe in september or october. its something i have always been interested in, ive been doing my own hair and my friends hair since middle school, and i love it. im so interested in learning techniques and things ive just never been able to get quite right. i and id like to be able to take one of the millions of things im interested in and make a career out of it. i actually feel like its something i can do for a long time and not find myself bored and wanting to run away from it. there is just no negative aspect to it. plus if i am bored i can leave! go anywhere and cut hair! sure its a pita to have your licence transferred, but ill think about that later.
+second! im going to try my hardest to find bicycles for my closest friends. there are only 4 of them so i dont think finding and fixing up 4 bicycles should be too much of an unreasonable pursuit. i found old trusty little lady steel horse at a yard sale in patchogue for ten bucks! ive absorbed quite alot more bike building/maintenance/know how in the past year or so, i think i can handle this.
+third! etsy shop! finalllllllyyyy! one of my all time favorite hobby's are thrifting. unfortunately i get easily excited when i find amazing things and forget that my feet are not size 8.5 and i would never wear a skirt with multicolored shoes printed all over it (well i would but the said skirt was incredibly unflattering on my physique) so my closet becomes filled with amazing stuff thats unwearable by me. so i thought of this novel idea. SELL IT to OTHER people!! omg. plus i can sell MY designs. all in one place. maybe some art too. wowowoowow. so psyched i cant even type.
(theres is a negative to all these possibilities)
-vehicle. ive had no need for a gas powered vehicle in the past year. im not looking forward to it. at all. but unfortunately if im going to go to school AND work AND go adventuring around the island looking for bikes and other weird old things AND acts of mother nature such as rain and snow are normal occurrences (shudders and makes disgusted, i just accidentally ate a tomato face) im going to have to resort to a car. i had this SUPERAWESOME idea of getting a sweet old little motorcycle but the downsides to that surfaced far too quickly for me to even get to google search it and tease myself.
there you have it. my most exciting PLANS. now its time for a coffee refill.

also. side note with many exclamation points-ive been rediscovering so many bands that i havent listened to in years thanks to last fm. so if anyone else hasnt listened to braid, capnjazz, mineral, the promise ring, or hey mercedes in a while you should and i guarantee it will make you cry tears of joy, or maybe sad reminiscent emo tears :)
also. side note 2. my two NEW band discoveries! one is hail seizures, who ross and i saw a few weeks back and were amazing and made me want to pursue drumming (another pursuit, vanessa?! srsly?!) also, captain chaos! very much like other favorite bands of mine, ghost mice, defiance, ohio, etc. but also awesome. and ive never heard of them till now! damn my internet-less existence :)
