RICHmond

it has been one week in richmond so far, a long first week, of parties, new friends, job searches, and no showers. im laying in a sagging and slowly leaking air bed, in a less than livable house. no one should be paying to live here, really. no hot water, no gas, ive seen a mouse, and the floor could use a power wash in every room. ive had to kill multiple spiders, which i hate doing, and using the toilet requires an awkward trip through someone elses bedroom. on the bright side, there is a refrigerator and a toaster oven, i unexpectedly started a job today at perly's restaurant in downtown richmond, and monday night ross, my friend ryan and myself will be signing a lease for a new place which is quite amazing and even luxurious coming from our current living conditions. im really quite excited. the past two apartments i have lived in were barely apartments. single rooms with a bathroom and kitchen. we have made them work, with innovation of course. its really almost intimidating to have an entire house to work with. not have to eat, sleep, and hang out in the same hundred square feet. im up for the challenge, although i believe it will be less of the latter and more of an adventure!
